As part of her 2008-09 Australia Council Project Fellowship, Lisa travelled to Chennai, India in September-October 2008, to undertake further vocal percussion study with her teacher Karaikudi Mani. It was an inspiring visit to Mani’s new residence in Panayur just South of Chennai.
Ben Robertson, who plays double bass with the Lisa Young Quartet also undertook a study program in Chennai with South Indian violinist V.S. Narasimhan. He also had a very inspiring trip and is collaborating with Lisa on the arrangements of ‘The Eternal Pulse’.
