Kis Kas (also known as aslatuas) are the Ghanaian hand percussion that Lisa plays. Each pair of aslatuas are 2 small gourds with small stones inside, joined by a piece of cotton rope. Lisa uses shellack on the outside to harden the shell and make them more durable.
She learnt to play them with Nii Tetty Tetteh, a fabulous musician friend from Ghana with whom Coco’s Lunch once did some shows.
